Whether it's reaching the summit of a 5,000 foot peak or creating a
skit to perform about their wilderness adventures, campers and staff build trust and camaraderie while
exploring the natural world, their selves and others. Saltash Mountain also

Tmarack Farm is an
alternative summer camp for teenagers that removes them from technological
society and places them on a working farm without computers, cell phones or
even electricity in their cabins. For two months, campers are totally
immersed in daily farm chores, community service projects and principles of
simple, sustainable living. With only musical instruments and their own
voices, they learn to entertain, speak, communicate and run what becomes
their Farm. Leaders emerge, minds mediate, compassion trumps fashion. By the
end of the summer, teenage children have grown kinder, wiser and more
